Oh, come on now, how can you resist these Allene J. Love hand tinted baby
portraits. Both are Copyright 1936, titled and signed, this pair will capture your
heart and check out those adorable bows on the original frames, very rare
and unusual frames. Both portraits have
been very well preserved and in fine condition, superb detail and artistry. The one
on the right has a edge mark under the glass, I can't really tell
what it is and it will not show in a photo, it does not detract in my opinion and does not
interfere with the portrait. Off white frames have their original paint showing very
minor age with each bow having a small chip and craze line, nothing offensive at all for
matching frames that are this unique. I'm sure it will be some time before I come
across another pair anywhere near as unusual as these, you will love them in
your nursery. UPDATE: Thank you for requesting the size.
This lovely pair measures generously at about 17 inches or so diagonally and a
little larger across where the bows are located. Concerning the one with the
edge mark: it's located at about 1 o'clock, it looks like a narrow streak that
runs from the outer edge inward, it's about 2 inches long and ends in a point.
It does not interfere with the portrait and it is reasonably faint. Any other
discolor on this piece would be very faint, at the farthest edge and difficult
to discern. It wasn't significant enough to stop me from adoring these very
special baby portraits and the frames are one-of-a-kinds. |
