These antique porcelain backed hand mirrors were made during the late 1800's through the very early 1900's, this example exhibits all the beauty of the Victorian era. I love how the decorated primroses cover the greater portion of the bright white background tone. The colors are very attractive with multi pinks, rose burgundy and soft pale yellow, as well as a variety of greenery and decorative sprigs. The entire look is so lovely, as is the condition, no cracks, chips or negatives. I am showing you plenty of photos so you can judge this hand mirror yourself as being very worthy of a special place amongst your dresser accessories.
The close-ups show all the details very well and depict the color tones exactly. You might think there is a short crack in the porcelain, but not so, it is just the edge of the transfer artwork, which is applied much like a decal and then fired on for durability. The brass rim around the porcelain has a grooved edge, along with a few small dents but nothing too naughty. The golden brassy handle is embossed with those charming Victorian roses and it is in secure, strong, dent free condition. The original mirror was cracked, so I replaced it with a perfectly clear mirror with a bevel at the outer edge, much like the original. The overall size is 9¼ in length with a 5 inch diameter viewing surface. I can't find one reason not to love this vanity hand mirror and I know you will do just that. No significant issues to mention, wee if any wear, certainly nothing overly apparent. Please consider cherishing this vanity hand mirror, let me know and I'll place it aside just for you.
