My photos are very good and show you what to expect but please forgive the occasional light reflections. The bouquet of roses is set against a white background and the decoration is in fine condition with barely a small scratch to be found. I just can't seem to find these antique children's porcelain hand mirrors anymore, especially in this condition, it seems most of them have perished through time or are in collections. This example has been lovingly cared for and has only the expected small age related issues. The metal work has a very pale brass tone and I have gently polished it for you. Of course, there are a few little tiny dents and dimples but nothing like you would expect to find on an antique child's hand mirror, truly it's really nothing much at all. The rim has a pretty raised beaded edge and the handle is embossed with an Art Nouveau design that dates this hand mirror to between 1890 and 1905. The original mirror shows a nice clear image along with some scratches and outer areas of wear to the silver backing. These areas show well in my photo and in my opinion take nothing away from this rare child's hand mirror, it's remarkable that the mirror has maintained so well. This adorable hand mirror measures 6¼ in length by 3¼ in width. If you have been looking for one of these antique child's porcelain backed hand mirrors, you might want to consider adding this one because they are getting so very hard to find and this one is really fabulous. If you are a collector of these more unusual smaller treasures, I do believe that you will cherish this little piece of Art Nouveau history.
