This vintage eye glass holder comes in the form of
a sleeve for slipping in your eye glasses. It was hand made in France
during the 1930 - 1940 era.
The size of the bright ivory beads are very small
like micro beads and the color is almost white but not quite. The design is a
classic in French workmanship. |

This vanity accessory is identical on both sides, except for the direction of the floral design. It is covered in tiny glass seed beads and generously enhanced with Tambour needlework in the Point de Beauvais stitch. The outer edge is defined with a row of small gold glass beads that have a great shine. The hand stitched florals are very well done and everything looks to be in extra fine condition, very well kept for it's age. I find no areas of bead loss whatsoever, nor any loose beads, snags, discolorations or other problems. The interior is lined in satin and has it's original label, stating it's French origin. The lining shows some small age related discolor but not nearly as much as there appears to be in my photo. There is an area of discolor that looks like there may have been some sort of a label there at one time, the dark black spots are from the black hand I use as a prop. Overall, I find this beautiful vintage eye glass holder to be in exceptional condition. It measures 6 in length by 2¾ in width and is the ultimate in vanity or purse accessories. If you wear glasses and need an elegant way to carry them in style and sophistication, please consider this lovely French eye glass holder.
