The entire body of this handbag is tightly covered in lively and cheerful beadwork, giving this purse a rather stiffer hand, not quite as fluid as some evening purses. As you can see in these two close-up photos, besides those adorable pastel flowers, there are sprigs of pink, blue and pale green pastel beads scattered about the pattern. The white background bead is nice and bright and the beadwork is spotless. This evening purse has been professionally cleaned and it is in excellent condition, having only a scent of freshness. The fully decorated gold tone frame is the spring tension style that opens and closes on a piano hinge, all working as it should. The full width of the frame is decorated with white and striking gold glass beads and capped on the ends with faux pearls. The center has some raised pastel coordinating beadwork and sports a small Limoges porcelain disc, transfer decorated with a Fragonard romance scene. The size of the disc is ¾ of an inch by ½ inch and the figural portrayal is simply lovely. Everything looks to be complete and secure, in fact, the entire purse is in extra fine condition. I love acquiring French evening bags that have been this well cared for. I find no problems with this handbag, no bead loss, no damage or apologies.
The interior is lined with white ivory satin, looking gently used with a very minor faded spot or two, certainly nothing much at all, overall this purse is very clean. The single pocket has it's label which reads hand made in France. The fully beaded handle did require some attention but I have replaced any missing beads and reinforced where it connects to the frame. Everything is very stable and will carry your essentials easily. Stuffed with tissue, this delightful hand made creation measures 5 in height by 9 inches across the bottom, the sides gusset out to 1 inch and the beaded handle drops the purse by 5½ inches. Thank you for considering this elegant French evening handbag, I do believe you will enjoy carrying it to your next special event.
