The French led the way when it came to elegant beaded evening wear and during the 1930's they excelled in the execution of the Point de Beauvais stitch, as is beautifully exhibited on this purse. These stunning roses have a delightful array of pink tones, with perhaps a bit of coral pinks as well. Sprigs of blossoms are scattered about the purse, all set against a heavily white beaded background. These white beads have a fairly bright tone and an all over fabulous sheen. For being a smaller purse, it has a marvelous personality and will arrive to you in splendid condition. This is a quality made elegant beaded evening handbag with a keen visual appeal. The body of this purse appears to be all the same tone of white and it is spotless. The beading is hand stitched so closely together that it's nearly heaping. The condition of this purse is impeccable but of course, if you look under magnification, you are bound to find a bead or two missing somewhere but I don't really notice any. I have professionally and thoroughly cleaned this purse for you, it is wonderful and near pristine, just the way I would want to own it, clean and refreshed. Look closely at all my photos, as they represent this purse well, both in color tones and in condition. The white glass beads on the body of this purse are not graying or yellowing. This purse is a lustrous soft white not a stark white. The arched golden tone frame is fully embossed on all sides and the top is embellished with twisted and braided coordinated beadwork along with short rows of tiny faux pearls. The beading is complete and the little faux pearls show some scattered wear to their outer layer of skin. This is noticeable under magnification or close scrutiny but is not terribly obvious to the naked eye. The metal work is in extremely good condition, very radiant, looking nearly new, with the frame opening and closing properly. All together, the frame is a good fit for this lovable handbag. This purse carries with a medium firm hand but is not overly stiff. It's a sweetheart of a purse, has a bit of a puffy form and will fit in the palm or your hand. All aspects of this purse are well attached to the frame at all points and this purse literally suffers no problems or issues that I can find. There is not a large side gusset on this purse so you will carry only your real necessities. Not too much will fit in this purse, a hanky, lipstick, compact or small essentials. The backside is entirely covered in glass beading with a smaller version of embroidery in the center arena. The golden carry chain handle is looking wonderful, almost as bright as the frame, not darkening like they usually do. The interior maintains it's original nearly white satin lining with a single pocket. Stuffed with tissue, as shown, this bag measures 4 1/4 inches in height, 7 3/4 inches at it's widest, the side has an inch of depth and the chain handle drops the purse by 4 1/2 inches. The workmanship is everything you would expect from a French beaded evening bag, both in design and craftsmanship. This striking little beauty is worthy of your consideration and is perfect for the gal who prefers to carry a smaller elegant beaded purse.
