The enameled artwork is the same on both sides of the purse and includes deep blue florals engulfed with black and rustic orange angles and curves. This purse exhibits an all-over intricate pattern on a soft white background. The mesh links are all complete, no detachments or gaps at the hinges, everything is there as it should be. If there is any paint loss, it is not apparent, there may be a bit of rubbing at the hinges but I really don't even see much of that. Any paint wear found would be truly insignificant. My photos represent the artistry very well. This Mandalian mesh purse demonstrates a unique blend of the Art Nouveau and the Art Deco eras, helping to date this purse to more likely the pre 1920's or the early 1900's.
The silver tone frame is outstanding, the top has an embossed Art Nouveau floral design and below that is a marvelous ¾ inch band of pierced floral metal work. The frame is very pretty, it crowns this purse with distinction, it is strong and sturdy, hinges are in proper working order and the clasp closes with a snap. I have polished the frame to the best of my abilities and have removed much of the old tarnish, as well as the bottom fringes. For the most part, the metal is relatively bright with minimum tarnish remaining here and there, as expected. The fringes are full and complete, finishing off this mesh purse beautifully. 
The frame is signed and the interior is unlined, as most were. The last two photos illustrate both the front and back sides, which show the condition of this Mandalian enamel purse to be a fabulous investment piece. This purse measures generously and larger than most at 9 inches from the top of the clasp to the bottom of the fringe by 4½ at it's widest point, the chain link carry handle drops the purse by about 6 inches. I believe you will enjoy adding this vintage Mandalian mesh purse to your collection. If you are considering collecting these mesh bags, this Mandalian would certainly make for an exquisite first purchase, it would add depth and character to any existing treasury of purses or make a very thoughtful gift for that special someone.
