Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one will enter into heaven unless they believe in Him. John 14:6 Christianity is not a religion, it is a way of life, obedient to the will of God. When I asked God to forgive me, I wanted to trade my sins and my shame for a new beginning. My life had little meaning, I asked to know God and have a relationship with Him. My request was granted as a free gift and God accepted me into His family as I was that very moment. I did not have to clean up my life, He does that for me daily through the indwelling power of His Holy Spirit. I've turned away from my sinful lifestyle, I'm living life Christ's way. I used to think I would go to heaven simply because I was a good person, why wouldn't I? I cared about people. I was kind, considerate and polite. I believed I did a good job of keeping God's commandments, although I knew I had broken some of the "little ones". I even went to church sometimes and if that wasn't enough, I believed some time spent in purgatory would save me. I didn't know my sins carried a penalty too great for me to pay and that my sins had separated me from God forever. I didn't know God hadn't provided a place called purgatory, that provision was salvation according to man, not God. When I confessed my sins, asked for forgiveness and accepted Jesus as my Savior, God could no longer see nor even remember my mistakes. He only sees that I am covered by the sacrifice that Jesus made for me, by taking my punishment and paying the penalty I couldn't pay. I am a sinner but I am not condemned. Jesus saved me, He gave His life in payment for mine. He paid my debt, now I belong to God and that is the truth. When I asked God to take my life and do as He pleased, He gave me new life with truth. It is by God's grace that I am saved, through faith in Jesus Christ. Even my faith comes from God, for I was weak and had no faith apart from Him. I desire to deepen my personal relationship with Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit of God. This relationship will never end and I will have eternal life with the Lord. God wants everyone to have this life with Him but you must choose and ask for this free gift. Your gift is waiting for you to accept. I pray for you to choose Jesus today, Carol
