Since I am not a baker, pastry or bread maker, I do think someone should put it to good use, as it was intended to be used. It was made from four pieces of golden honey toned pine, having ends capped with tongue and groove outer breadboard pieces and I see a few very old nails in a couple of places along the side. This pastry board is very solid and sturdy. It is in remarkably fine primitive shape, very well smoothed with age. My photos represent the item well and show you exactly what to expect. This board was used for more than dough or pastry making, it appears to have a fair showing of cut marks, so chopping of herbs was no doubt one of it's useful jobs. Both sides of this board have been gently used and enjoyed but I see no serious problems with this primitive board, everything is firm and I don't detect any warping to speak of. One of the side pieces has slightly moved but it's very tight and insignificant, I can't budge it. The board is in as found condition and would likely benefit from a light steel wooling, to remove some old build up but I will leave it as is unless you request a cleaning. I know some of you like these boards just the way they are. This antique pastry dough bread board comes in a comfortable and useable size of 20 inches by 13⅝ inches, with the wood being about ½ inch thick. It's a nice size and you won't have to give up half your kitchen to use it. These boards are quite fun to play with and will serve your favorite breads or pastries with style and country charm.
