I fell in love with it when I saw it. The shape and style is sensational, looks like it flipped a lot of flapjacks or potato pancakes during it's years of service. I don't really know what to call it. It doesn't have much of a bowl to the shape like a spoon or ladle, nor is it shaped exactly like a scoop, it seems to be more like a spatula, for turning over your favorite foods. The coloring and graining to the wood is fabulous with warm honey and multi brown tones. There is a hole at the end of the handle for hanging, it has been there for a long time. The white spot you see in the photo appears to be some type of glare as the piece has no such spot. I'm showing lots of photos so you can judge this primitive wooden utensil as worthy. The condition is damage free with not much normal wear to the very outer edge. It appears that a right handed person utilized this piece as indicated by a bit of tiny wear at the very end. Overall, it is wonderful, measuring: 12 in length, the handle is 8 in length by 1¼ in width and the spatula is over 3 by 4 inches. I really like this primitive wood utensil, it clearly took talent to hand carve. I know it will soon become a favorites in your treasured Americana woodenware collection.
